🛡️ What is CASE?
CASE stands for Creating A Safe Environment. All adult volunteers who work with children, youth, or vulnerable adults in our parish ministries must complete a brief but important training to ensure our community is safe and welcoming for all.
This process includes a Criminal Record Check, Safe Environment Training, and agreement to a Code of Conduct. The Diocese of Rochester requires training to be renewed every three years.
Adult Volunteers (18+)
Complete the 3 easy steps below to finish your CASE training and submit your forms. Renewal is required every 3 years. After each step, send the forms to [email protected] or drop them off at the Parish Office before volunteering.
Step 1: CASE Training
Download and follow the Training Instructions PDF.
✨ If you’re renewing and over age 70, you may skip the online training!
Then email your Certificate of Completion.
Step 2: Background Check
Fill out the Background Check Form and attach a copy of your ID.
Then email both the form and your ID.
Step 3: Code of Conduct
Read and sign the Code of Conduct document.
Then email the signed form to Lily.
Teen Volunteers (Under 18)
Teens complete an in-person training at the parish that includes prayer, a review of the Code of Conduct for Minors, and interactive discussions about real-life scenarios. It’s easy, engaging, and designed just for you!

📬 Once you’ve completed all steps, either print and bring your signed Code of Conduct to the parish or email it to Lily. She will then contact you to schedule your in-person training session.
If you’re volunteering at VBS or the Tuesday Program, the in-person training will happen at your first meeting!
